The Little Yogis

Cheryl has lived all her life in the Greater Lafayette area. She is the mother of two small children. Her personal yoga practice began over eight years ago. In April 2015 she decided to deepen her own practice and enrolled in yoga teacher training. After finishing her 200 hour training at Peace Through Yoga in Indianapolis and acquiring her certification through Yoga Alliance, she decided to share her passion and knowledge with others.

She has a interest in overall wellness, with a deep passion for helping others with anxiety, depression, and grief. Cheryl’s personal experiences with these emotions are her motivation for helping others. She incorporates each class with mudras (hand gestures), breathing techniques, meditation, inspiration, healing asanas, and intuition.

Cheryl has been a licensed esthetician for over a decade. She previously worked in the top two salons in the Lafayette area. Her focus was skin care and massage. She worked many years on the outside body wellness. Now as a certified yoga teacher she can also focus on the inside wellness.

She plans to deeply study nutrition and Ayurveda for whole body health and wellness.

Cheryl is looking to achieve her 500 hour certification in the next few years.

Shari Gass

Shari’s love of yoga has opened the door to meeting wonderful people, both students and teachers. Some of her favorite yoga experiences include her recent month-long sojourn to India where she was able to teach women working at Blue Mango, a development program for disenfranchised women. She also taught yoga for the children in their after-school program, and did an impromptu yoga session with children at an orphanage.

At home in West Lafayette, she enjoys volunteering for the children at the Hanna Community Center after school program. She loves her little yogis and finds great inspiration from them.

Shari began teaching in 2002. She completed a 200-hour teacher training program at Living Yoga Program in Austin, TX. She currently teaches at the Morton Community Center, McAllister Community Center, and private and individual classes.
